Entrepreneurial Marketing

Entrepreneurial Marketing is where marketers are more concerned about the marketing spirit than a single marketing strategy although many entrepreneurial marketing strategies are evolved from necessity. Entrepreneurial marketing poses large problems to the company since large business compete with the small company taking a chance on putting the small company out of business. Small start up companies can overcome the disadvantage by running ads in the newspaper, magazines, and even advertising on bill boards on the side of the interstate. This helps the small business owner get his name out and in return will eventually be able to compete with the larger business resulting in increase revenue for the small business owner.

Non-Monetary Marketing

Non-monetary marketing techniques is when a company offers incentives without offering cash money. This benefits the company since they are not out any money but still offer an incentive for doing well. One example a company could offer a day off with pay and then the company would not be out any extra money and the employee would still get incentives for doing a good job. Non-monetary marketing is a smart way for companies to motivate their employees and also help get business without spending extra money. Business's can get business by getting business and offering an incentive if they start doing business with the company. Non-monetary marketing if used correctly can benefit the company greatly.

Public Relations

A good example of Public Relations is when the Chamber of Commerce sends employees out to to tell the people of the community what it has to offer. In order to have a good pubic relations the employees must be well aware of what is going on around the area. Without Public Relations there is things that may not never be made public to the community and therefore the public would miss out on great opportunities of what is going on. Public Relations is a vital part of society and the community without it we would not be informed on what is going on. Public Relations is able to transmit information to the general public and get the word out about events.

E-Marketing

E-Marketing is becoming more and more popular with consumers now. People are living busier lives and are not able to actually go to the store and pick the product up instead they log onto the website, most of the time from their phone, and search for the product that they want and order it and have it delivered to their door. This is making everything more and more convenient for the consumer and makes it more appealing if they can order it off the internet. Cyber Monday is also a growing thing that is coming more and more popular. E-Marketing is a smart strategic move by companies that allows them to sale products to people in all areas and not have to have the product in every business across the United States.

Pricing

When you walk into different grocery stores you can see the same item on the shelf but at many different prices. With Publix now in Cullman they attract people even though their prices are higher it still attracts the consumer to Publix since they are known for their cleanness and top notch products. Where as if you was to go to Ware House Discount the prices may be a little cheaper since the store may not be as clean and the products might not be as good quality. Publix attracts consumers even though they are higher but if you want top quality produce and meat products that is the place to go. This is how Publix attracts you to their store then while you are there you think you need this and then before you know it you have spent your whole pay check on groceries. With all of this said cheaper may not always be better.

Small City Business

Small city business's is a great advantage to the city, providing extra income to the city. Having a business in a small city not only helps the city but also helps the community since it provides resources to the public that they need. A good example of this is S&S Grocery building a grocery store in Dodge City, this provides the people that live in southern Cullman county a convient place to buy groceries without going all the way to town. Dollar General is also a business that is popping up on every corner. The marketing developer has took time in planning where a business would do good at and would be convient to the public.

Brilliant Pricing Move

Aldis is the first store that comes to my mind that has done a smart pricing move. When you go into Aldis you have to pay for the cart and when it gets returned you get the money back. This cuts down on the prices of the groceries by reducing the employee cost of a person getting the carts back to the store. The items in the store are also in boxes and not neatly displayed on the shelf whereas other competitors display the items neatly. By just having the box in the aisles it reduces the need for stockers to keep the groceries stocked. This is just a couple ways that Aldis can reduce the cost of their items and still sell large quanities of goods and still make a profit.

John Deere

Everybody knows of the popular tractor "John Deere"  that is the center piece of most farms. This is a topic that is close to me with my family owning eight John Deere tractors to operate daily on the farm. When you ask somebody what kind of tractor is most common they will just about always say John Deere. John Deere was started in 1837 with the invention of the steel plow by the man named John Deere who was a blacksmith at the time of the invention. Now in the 21st century tractors, combines, lawnmowers, farm equipment and even kids toys all are made by the company John Deere. With the John Deere name it is thought of as being a repuitable company that produces quality products, if the John Deere company was to take the John Deere off the side of the product they would not sale near as many products even though it is still a John Deere product. The name helps sell the product in a lot of cases, this is a smart move on the marketing stand point since the name is so repuitable it helps the product sale. Without the name there would probably not be near as many child toys made by John Deere sale, so therefore the marketers are smart in developing items that are common products but are sold in large quanity simply because of the name.

Grocery Bags

A problem that I see by observing that people would not admit to is unloading groceries. When you go into a grocery store the items you buy are placed in a plastic bag with no structure. Some of the times the bag never makes it in one piece home it gets torn and the items are every where in your vehicle. Paper bags used to be a solution to this problem but now all stores have went to plastic which is a lot cheaper and easier to place the items in. If you was to ask a person though if they are having problems with unloading or loading their groceries their initial response would be "no" when in reality they really are having a problem. The stores use the plastic bags though because they are cheaper. In my opinion this is a way that marketers have decided to keep the cost from being so high because the price of the plastic bags are factored in with the groceries because the store is not going to give you the bag just to never see it again. In reality nothing is free and the plastic bags are cheaper even though they do cause trouble to the people that use them.

Compulsive Buying

Every time you go to check out at a store they have stands of candy, magazines, and miscellaneous items that are convenient for the customer to buy. While standing to check out the items draw your attention and want you to buy the items. I know personally that I have fell guilty to buying candy and items while standing in a checkout line. Placing such items in the checkout line is a smart move for marketers since the items that are in the line may not be the typical items you would think about buying while walking through the store. The average person does not go into a grocery store to buy a Butterfinger or Hershey bar but while standing in the line with their groceries they see the candy bars and think that they need to buy that item to satisfy a want that they want. Some items that I would believe would go over well in check a check out line would be cell phone accessories, everybody now has a cell phone so I believe that cell phone accessories would be a smart move for marketers to try to start putting on the out line.

Customer Markets

Business's are always advertising stating that they have the best product or that their product works better than the competitors. This is a way that the business is portraying the consumer to buy their product over the competitors product. To sale a product the business has to appeal to the customer and make the customer feel that they need the product. The business advertises the product in a way that persuades the consumer to truly believe in the product. We are always seeing advertisement on t.v. that advertizes a car, jewelry, or life insurance stating just pay a small fee per month but what the business fails to tell the consumer that interest and taxes are tacked on to the price to. This is just a way that the business makes the consumer think the product is really better deal than it really is. I know I have fell guilty to the "scam" that business's place on the consumer to try to make you by the product.

Technology Ahead of Time

Technology is always advancing, one thing that I believe is ahead of its time though is robots performing surgery. Many things can go wrong while performing surgery especially if a robot is performing the surgery. Even though doctors are helping with the surgery the robot is still in control of what it is doing inside the body. The robot could puncture a internal part that was not meant to be punctured resulting in a more complex surgery or even death. I personally would not want a robot performing surgery on me but I believe that in my life time robots will be performing a large portion of all surgerys. A robot is a man made thing and in my opinion anything man made has the chance of malfunctioning. I believe robots performing surgery are way above their time but will save money and make life easier for people.

Keeping Good Ideals

Have you ever thought of something that would be a good ideal and then forget to write it down and you forget completely about it? I do not think of ideals frequently but when I do I like to write the ideal down to where I can go back and look at it in more detail and think about it to see if it would really be a good ideal. I like to keep my ideals wrote down in a notepad to where they are easy accessible. If you write the ideals down on an electronic device you are taking the chance that the electronic could crash then you have lost all the ideals that you had logged in the electronic device. There is no for sure safe place to keep your ideals since every place you store the information you are taking a chance of it becoming loss in some form of fashion, if they are stored on paper you are taking a chance on the paper becoming loss. With all of this being said I still believe that a notepad with your ideals on it is the best place to keep them.

Benefits of Living in a Small Town

I live in a community of approximately fifty people where everybody knows everybody. I grew up in the community of Arkadelphia which is located in the southern tip of Cullman County. There is one convenience store where we can go to buy small things and catch up on the local gossip. In a small town one thing that is for certain, is that if you need help your neighbor will most certainly help you out in any way possible.I look forward to reading everybody else's blog post.
